Mindy's Favorites of the Year

Like any other not-so-well-adjusted adult, I like outsourcing my emotional needs onto books. Sure you can read for a sensible chuckle or two, but isn't the point of a good story to feel something? To be devastated with grief, overwhelmed with laughter, thrilled to swooning, so incensed or unsettled or bewildered that you're haunted by the themes and characters and plotpoints for days, months, years after and everyone around you learns not to bring up Certain Titles within earshot anymore? To my list, I'd like to say, 'You've got me feeling emotions. Deeper than I've ever felt before.' To you, reading this, I say, 'AVERT THINE EYES YOU KNOW TOO MUCH.'

Mindy, Brookly
