A revealing and thoughtful portrayal of the physician-patient relationship and how doctors feel about their patients, disease, and the profession from a retired internist who practiced medicine for more than thirty years in New York City.
A retired doctor "draws on his experience to plead the cause of doctors persuasively, compassionately, and often humorously" (Publishers Weekly), examining such complex issues as terminal illness, doctors' bills, and malpractice, as well as the strengths and failings of the doctor-patient relationship.
